Second year law student and recipient of this year’s Jack Giles Scholarship Award, Josh, upon being awarded the scholarship: “It’s hard to put into words the impact this scholarship has had. Coming from a family that lives on welfare, going to university was something I didn’t even think was possible. It was one of the most amazing things that has ever happened to me”. As the result of a $100,000 donation to the Allard School of Law at UBC in honour of Jack Giles, Q.C., an endowment award is available to students entering the JD program with preference given to students who have demonstrated a keen interest in advocacy through student government, community involvement or other activities.
