Farris Associate, Amanda Winters, presented at the Trial Lawyers Association of BC course, “An Insider’s View: Intersections with Family Law” on April 16, 2021. Amanda’s presentation, “Estate Issues and Pitfalls in Family Cases” covered a number of estate matters that frequently arise in family law cases, including guardianship of children, orders against an estate to pay spousal support, and capacity to separate, along with procedural matters relevant to family litigators.  Amanda also addressed drafting cohabitation, pre-nuptial, and separation agreements with an eye to protecting a client’s estate.
