Farris Lawyer, Amanda Winters, recently volunteered for an urgent pro bono matter to help reunite a mother and her child who had been separated for several years after the mother claimed asylum in Canada. Ms. Winters successfully applied to the B.C. Supreme Court for the return of the child, and coordinated the enforcement of the order out of province, with the assistance of a team of private volunteer lawyers. Mother and child are now happily reunited and building a new life.
Amanda Winters is an associate in Farris’ Family and Estate Litigation groups. She represents clients in both family and estate matters, and has a particular interest in matters where these two areas of law intersect.
