Farris Associate, Mohnaam Kaur Shergill was recently interviewed by Global BC and CBC Vancouver regarding her ongoing work to raise awareness about Sikh Heritage Month. Mohnaam also attended the first Sikh Heritage Month celebration at Vancouver City Hall on April 12, 2024, where she and other members of the Sikh Heritage Society of BC were presented with a Proclamation from the City of Vancouver, officially recognizing April as Sikh Heritage Month.

As a founding member and current media coordinator of the Sikh Heritage Society of BC, Mohnaam emphasized the importance of recognizing and celebrating the social, economic and cultural contributions of Sikh Canadians both to British Columbia and to Canada more broadly. The Society is holding a month-long series of events aimed at promoting intercultural dialogue and understanding, which can be accessed here. Events are open to the public and include a live and interactive art exhibit, an immersive concert and much more.
