Farris Partner Al Hudec, counsel for Gitxaala First Nation, assisted leadership of the Gitxaala Nation in reaching LNG benefits agreements with the Province of British Columbia . The Agreements will provide initial funding to assist the nation in preparing for and managing LNG development. A total of $57 million for the Gitxaala over four years will be used to grow capacity, improve ferry service, develop community infrastructure and create a legacy fund. When signing the Agreements, Gitxaala Chief Clifford White stated that: “These are truly legacy partnership agreements for our children’s children who are yet to be born.
