On April 12, Farris Associate Counsel, Thomas Ciz and Associate, Trevor Shum presented at the Continuing Legal Education on the topic: “A Practical Guide in Determining When to Charge PST on the Provision of Legal Services.”
The presentation outlined the overarching principles governing the obligation to charge and remit PST, highlighting the risks associated with misapplication, and stressing the importance of adherence to regulatory guidelines.
Thomas has broad experience in taxation and corporate/commercial law having initially served clients at a national firm and now at Farris LLP. As well, Thomas has acted as general counsel for both public and private corporations.
Trevor’s practice involves advising individuals and companies on corporate and tax matters – including mergers and acquisitions, corporate reorganizations, individual tax planning and dispute resolution.
