Michelle Moriartey Presents at the BC Tax Conference
Farris Partner, Michelle Moriartey, recently co-presented at the British Columbia Tax Conference (alongside David Jacyk of Osler) on the topic of ‘Tax Audit and Administration’. The session discussed proposed changes to the administration and enforcement provisions in the Income Tax Act and other federal tax statutes, which seek to enhance the audit powers of the Canada Revenue Agency, as well as the attendant challenges for advisors and potential implications and considerations for taxpayers.
Michelle is a Partner in the Tax Group and leads the tax litigation practice at Farris. Michelle has extensive experience in all aspects of tax litigation and dispute resolution, including representing clients in disputes with CRA and the Ministry of Finance, from the audit and objection stages to appeals before the courts. Michelle regularly appears on tax matters before the Tax Court of Canada, the Federal Court of Canada, the Federal Court of Appeal, and all levels of courts in British Columbia.
