Farris is pleased to announce that our Partner, Michelle Moriartey, has been elected to the board of governors of the Canadian Tax Foundation (CTF). Founded in 1945 under the joint sponsorship of the Canadian Institute of Charted Accountants and the Canadian Bar Association, the CTF is Canada’s leading source of insight on tax issues, promoting understanding of the Canadian tax system through analysis, research, and debate and providing valuable recommendation on areas of improvement.
Michelle is a partner in the Tax Group at Farris and leads the tax litigation practice. Michelle has extensive experience in all aspects of tax litigation and dispute resolution, including representing clients in disputes with the Canada Revenue Agency and the Ministry of Finance, from the audit and objection stages to appeals before the courts. Michelle regularly appears on tax matters before the Tax Court of Canada, the Federal Court of Canada, the Federal Court of Appeal, and all levels of courts in British Columbia.
