David is a solicitor in the firm’s corporate & commercial and real estate groups, acting principally for private real estate developers and advising his clients on all aspects of real estate development. He has extensive experience advising clients on development specific site acquisitions, preparing disclosure statements, securing equity and debt financing, negotiating, drafting and securing, covenants, rights of way, easements, ground and building leases, strata and subdivision registrations, rezoning, development and other municipal permits, and all other matters required to successfully carry out and complete a real estate development project in British Columbia.

David also has extensive experience and has strong relationships with many of British Columbia’s top commercial real estate brokers and sales and marketing agencies.

David has also provided legal advice to municipalities and public authorities, to vendors and purchasers in commercial real estate transactions (including role and lease back transactions) and to landlords and tenants in commercial leasing transactions and to owners and operators in the hospitality industry.

Prior to joining Farris, David worked for a number of years with a prominent Victoria firm practicing real estate development law and commercial transactions.
