Doris graduated from the Master of Laws (Common Law) Program (LLM CL) at the Peter A. Allard School of Law at the University of British Columbia (UBC).
During law school, Doris volunteered with the Federation of Asian Canadian Lawyers (FACL BC) and Pro Bono Students Canada. She also holds a Master of Laws from East China University of Political Science and Law, where she was recognized as a Shanghai Outstanding Graduate in China.
Prior to joining Farris, Doris practiced as an associate in the Shanghai office of an international law firm. She managed syndicated loans, real estate finance, and other cross-border finance transactions for both lenders and borrowers. She was also seconded to the legal team at HSBC Bank (China) for several months. Doris obtained her Certificate of National Unified Legal Professional Qualification Examination in China in 2020 and her Chinese Lawyer’s License in 2022.
Outside of work, Doris enjoys running, badminton, meditation, and baking birthday cakes. She holds an advanced certificate of Chinese calligraphy. Doris is fluent in Mandarin.
