Nicholas provides practical tax advice on transactional, litigation and trust & estate planning matters for public, private and institutional clients. He has experience with both domestic and cross-border transactions involving trusts, partnerships and funds operating in a wide variety of industries. He also has extensive experience with tax disclosure in securities documents, Canada’s suite of clean economy investment tax credits and Indigenous taxation.

Nicholas has worked with high-net-worth individuals and financial institutions on complex trust matters and disputes with the Canada Revenue Agency. He also supports owner-managed businesses on intergenerational transfers, reorganizations and exits. Nicholas regularly advises on Canadian withholding tax matters.

Nicholas is a proud volunteer with Access Pro Bono where he provides summary advice to individuals, charities and non-profits on a wide variety of tax and dispute matters.

Before joining Farris, Nicholas worked in the tax group of a national law firm.
