Vanessa is entering her third year at Thompson Rivers University, Faculty of Law. She has been active in the TRU community and was the Finance Executive for the Women in Law Club during her first year. She is currently a student mentor and Teaching Assistant for Tort Law and helped organize the first year CRT settlement exercise. Vanessa has received multiple awards during law school, including the Alvin & Lydia Grunert Scholarship for achieving the highest cumulative GPA in the Faculty of Law.

Vanessa received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Victoria, where she studied English and Psychology. She then went on to work as an accounting clerk in law firms for three years before starting law school.

In her free time, Vanessa enjoys hiking, reading, yoga and traveling.
