A new article by Farris partner Ludmila Herbst, K.C., appears in the May 2025 issue of the Advocate: “Legal Anecdotes” (‘Treason in the Age of Slavery’) (2025) 83 Advocate 445. The article chronicles the life and trial of a slave from Virginia who was convicted of treason in 1781 but pardoned in the same year. Ludmila often writes on matters of legal history as well as topics more directly related to her litigation practice.
