Farris is thrilled to share that our Partner, Nikki Charlton, has been honoured with the designation of King’s Counsel (KC), announced by the Provincial government on May 6^th, 2025. The KC designation recognizes lawyers throughout British Columbia for exceptional merit and contributions to the legal profession. At any time, no more than 7% of practising B.C. lawyers can have this designation.

Nikki is one of British Columbia’s leading family law practitioners, recognized by Lexpert and Best Lawyers Canada for her expertise and advocacy. A bencher of the Law Society since 2024, she is also an accredited mediator, arbitrator and parenting co-ordinator. Nikki has shaped precedent-setting case law and is a respected educator, author, and conference leader. She is deeply committed to access to justice, providing pro-bono services and supporting vulnerable populations. She is a prolific contributor to continuing legal education and access to justice.
