Farris was proud to support this year’s Goyer Award Winner, Chris Johnson K.C. who received his award at the annual CBA Bench & Bar Dinner last week. The Georges A Goyer, QC Memorial Award for Distinguished Service is awarded to one person each year to recognize exceptional contribution and achievement to the legal profession in B.C., jurisprudence in B.C. or Canada, or to the development of the law in British Columbia.
In his acceptance speech Mr. Johnson, K.C. made mention of two Farris Partners, both long-standing CBA members: his lifelong friend and Farris corporate partner Jay Sujir, for “teaching him the importance of work-life balance”, and Farris litigation partner Mike Wagner for having nominated Mr. Johnson for the Award.
Mike’s CBA involvement includes serving as Chair of the CBA – BC’s Air Law section and sitting on the executive of the national CBA Civil Litigation section.
Farris attendees at the dinner included Farris Partners Mike Wagner and Kevin Smith and Farris Associates Forrest Finn, Jake Harrigan and Nate Illsley.
